Job Description
Job Function:Conducts sustaining engineering and product configuration for Transfer Switches, Remote control switches and “configure to specifications “orders.Integrate pre-engineered electrical and mechanical subassemblies to fulfill order requirements. Responsibilities include creation of modularized product structures ( bills of material ) wiring diagrams ( including From-To wire run lists ), enclosure details and outline drawings for a complete product.Design and implementation of special electrical controls and mechanical assemblies to meet special customer order requirements.
Desired Profile
3-6 years experience in product design or supporting engineering with demonstrated experience level to perform complex job functions.Complete knowledge and experience in use of codes and standards including:• NFPA 70 ( National Electrical Code )• NFPA 99 ( Standard for emergency and standby Power systems )• UL Standards ( Related IEC Standards recommended )• UL 50 ( Standard for Enclosures for Electrical Equipment )• UL 508 ( Standard for Industrial Control Equipment )• UL 67 ( Standard for Panel boards )• UL 891 ( Standard for Dead – Front Switchboards )• UL 1008 ( Standard for Transfer Switch Equipment )Design knowledge and experience in control of power switching devices such as circuit breakers and transfer switching equipment. Specifically knowledge and design experience required in areas of and relating to:• Electrical switching equipment control circuits including power monitoring, permissive electrical control and protective control.• Low voltage (600 V max.) Power distribution including thorough knowledge of switching, protecting and power distribution devices. Knowledge of cabled and bussed distribution systems including conductor sizing, field cable termination requirements (gutters and wires bending space requirements and conductor sizing).• Overall experience and knowledge of design of electrical enclosures for low voltage power distribution and control equipment.Knowledge of electrical generating systems and related control including starting controllers.Knowledge of protective relying applications for power system protection as well as experience in application of same in control systems used to provide switching of multiple power sources.Experience in creation of electrical power and control circuits schematics, wire run lists, mechanical assemblies, and bills of material.
